  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

This is a bit of a UK specific question, but does anyone know if it's possible to foster or adopt after a history of depression and suicide attempts? I hope that may hard one in therapy might one day get me to a point where I can finally meet someone and settle down but know that as a 38 year old woman that my chances of having children are next to nothing and I've been coming to terms with that (please no "I'm 40 and got pregnant" encouragements as the reality is that I'm well behind on even being able to meet someone first). I now just hold onto the hope that maybe I'd meet someone who'd be happy to foster or adopt with me, but I'm concerned that approval wouldn't be granted. I was adopted in the 80s and I know my parents got a hard grilling just being in their mid and late 30s taking a toddler on. I'm proposing being 40+ with suicide attempts on my record. I'd like to think therapy and a strong partner would be enough, and I have so much personal insight into raising a child in care, but I don't know if the system would even consider me. Does anyone know the UK process these days?

I want my girlfriend to look into this since she's 40 and overweight and as much as it breaks my heart I don't think I can give her what she wants.

That's beautiful man. I'm an adopted guy. From a baby. I may not be happy as an adult, but my parents saved me from what could have been a terrible childhood.

@Mr2005 I hope you can, as long as you're ready and have things sorted out emotionally, the child can't afford to lose two separate families. That being said, y'all have the potential to be real life heros to someone.
