When the supply of oxygenated blood flow to the brain stops due to complete blockage of the carotid arteries, in 15 seconds or less you will lose consciousness, and you will no longer feel anything that will happen next.

Very explanatory
video on how consciousness is rapidly lost due to the blockage of oxygenated blood supply to the brain.
Then begins the phases of: spasms and convulsions, decerebrate/decorticate rigidity, abdominal movements, agonal breathing (not all people experience all the stages, some quickly become completely immobile)
Death occurs in less than half an hour.

brain oxygen deprivation and death
Hanging agonal breath info (Basic reflex of the dying brain, results from anoxic brain injury, not a response to conscious awareness)
