• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

24 years ago my dad killed himself. He spliced the end of an extension cord in to two, taped the wires to both sides of his chest, plugged it in to an outlet controlled buy a light switch, layer down on the sofa and used a broom to flip the switch. I was 17 at the time and couldn't understand why lead him to the moment. I understand now how its possible for a person to be unable to continue life. Im there myself. But in considering my own way out its lead me to a lot of curiosity about his choice. Was it quick? Was it painful? It seems to me to be an unusual why to go. I wonder how common of a method is it? You hear of gun shots, jumpers, OD's, hanging.... I just wonder where it falls on the list of death by suicided. I wonder why he choice it as his way out? Any insight you all have would be welcome.

My maternal grandfather spent his last seven years in a deep clinical depression following the death of my uncle. I was told that he told my grandmother that he was going to stick his finger into an electric socket and "Go be with John (his son)". He never did, but I've sometimes wondered how that would have worked.

I think I stuck a fork or my tongue in a socket. It must have tripped a circuit breaker.

You only need 5-10 amps to kill yourself. It depends on the body so it can be hit or miss. I haven't tested this method but you can use a led driver to push all that current without tripping the breaker. I will have to do some testing though.View attachment Porbable-effect-on-human-body.webp

I've long been interested in electricity, but the math involved above the most basis concepts is too much.

A co-worker once told me that when he was a child, a neighbor tried to fix a dead doorbell. He died instantly for his trouble.
