Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Not only have I had a rough time with mental illness, but it's led to me struggling to build a career, and now, it's looking impossible. I feel trapped and smothered under the weight of it all. Anyone else with these types of issues?

My issues caused me to fail my career and I screwed up for good. Now I am 36 with no chance to bounce back to work life so I am unemployed and living with parents. It is absolutely a nightmare I am living in.

Mine was (severe) bipolar I didn't realize until my late 20s. Have made a series of poor decisions that now seem insurmountable to come back from.

Perhaps you could retrain, learn how to code? Developers usually don't have to be very social?

I dont have opportunities to train unfortunately. I dont have prospects of getting a job at my age. My country in general and my city have a big unemployment problem. Nobody will pick me over younger ones

Can you retrain? Careers are overrated

Bipolar Disorder (Type I) and 3 episodes of psychosis have lead to financial, career and legal troubles.

I am currently unemployed for almost a year trying to recover. My brain has seen better days, that's for sure.

I am considering all options for the future, including CTB.

I have given up all hope of having a normal life. Like having a career, owning a home, getting married, etc. Everyday is a struggle to do the most basic things to survive. At some point you have be realistic. Life is not a hollywood movie. There is no happy ending.

Sorry you are going through this ... my major depressive disorder has killed a 30-year career and now I just work for scraps until I retire under social security ... which is going bankrupt too ..... generally the definition of fucked.

Have you looked into becoming a Peer Support Specialist?

They utilize "lived experience" with mental health and/or substance abuse to help others in recovery.
