My pain is reaching the point of no return. I still have a few fears. Any words of support or wisdom would be helpful.
1. I'm afraid of hurting the ones I love.
2. I'm afraid of the pain of dying. (Planning full suspension.)
3. I'm afraid of what might be coming to me after, if I fail or if I succeed.

I understand finding it so painful to exist, it's so cruel to me how there's all this suffering in existing. But anyway I wish you the best.

Do you mean you're afraid of hurting the ones you love by ctb and leaving them behind? That may be inevitable, though it's hard to accept. I'm not personally worried about the people in my life (they'll be fine), so I don't have any advice on this, unfortunately. Can you talk to them now, and tell them about what you're feeling? Or, leave a note in the hope that they'll understand?

Being afraid of the pain of dying is totally understandable. I doubt anyone here can escape that, since it's an instinctual, biological thing. If you're able to search, there are likely some resources to explore here that may help.

The third one, not knowing what comes next, is not something anyone can answer. My personal opinion is that there is no experience - it's all just non-existence as it was before we are born. Or, at most, we feel what it's like to be part of the universe, but not as a separate entity. We just are.

Probably none of that is helpful, but maybe it's good to know you're not alone in how you feel?

It helps. RE 1, my mom is old and it would destroy her. If I could I would wait till after she passes but the pain of my neurological condition (uncurable, and seemingly untreatable at this point) is getting to be overwhelming, as it has been progressing fast.

RE 2, are there any posts here about how to get over the fear of dying?

RE 3, I used to think that, but I've become attached to the idea of reincarnation, to restore justice in the universe. I wish I were still an atheist. (Before that I was a devout Catholic. Go figure.

It definitely helps to know I'm not alone. Thank you. I really have learned a lot on this site.

RE: 1: I'm so sorry you're going through that. Chronic pain is so exhausting. It can definitely make you feel like you'd do anything to make it stop. Would you be able to talk to your mom about how you feel?

RE: 2: I know many people have talked about the fear of dying many times here, but I don't have any specific posts to point to. You should be able to search for more information.

RE: 3: Religion can be a helpful structure, but sometimes it complicates things like this. I sometimes wonder if what happens after death is based on what we believe will happen. None of us will know until it happens, I guess.
