If you attempt ctb together with someone else and only one of you succeeds, what would happen to the surviving partner legally? I am in California.

It looks like CA law states that the act of deliberately aiding or encouraging another person to commit suicide is a crime. So I'm guessing that can be interpreted different ways depending on the cops, attorneys, judge, etc. I would be a little concerned about the person who fails the attempt in a communal ctb.

I don't think in a lot of places a pact with a suicidal person would hold much water. I think it might depend more how badly the survivor was injured and if their attempt was superficial or not.

This is what really concerns me about partners. That's why I'll ctb alone.
I don't want anybody or myself to end up in jail (or "luckily", in a psych ward)

That's my main problem with ctbing with a partner. You might b jailed for murder or something. Don't wanna make life worse than it already is.Similar threads
