stupid question but my loved one always tells me that we should travel before dying because travelling is an amazing experience and so is looking at breath taking sceneries around the world. Maybe it will change my mind. But I'm not so sure... I've travelled a little in my country but didn't really feel much different, was on the plane 2 times wishing it fell... She believes if we don't give travelling a try we might never find out what true happiness is like and maybe id wanna live, just like her. She says "you haven't seen the world yet you can't decide whether it's worth living or not, what if the world is a beautiful place, your world is very small confined to your room and your
shitty country and shitty people"

I do live in a shitty country with shitty people but I don't know if travelling would really help? Does travelling help? People who travelled here does it make you wanna not ctb?

I traveled, and now that I know I'll CTB soon, I'm glad that I did. Any more traveling at this point would only be a painful reminder that the world & all its beauty has nothing to do with me anymore. But since you haven't traveled, you may as well. It could inspire you to want to live, or it could just make you feel grateful you got to have a change of scenery before you CTB. It sounds like a win to me either way.

Traveling to look at nature does not inspire me. I do find a lot of value and enjoy traveling to see music related events.

I am unable to travel and see beauty of nature anymore as my body is dying but if if I was still able to travel and see beautiful nature and new landscapes I would be living again and that would be a dream come true. I hope you take any chance you have to travel out of your country and get out of your confined room. Nobody can know if it will determine your destiny but you will experience something completely new.

It doesn't for me. Everything everywhere feels exactly the same to me.

The only thing that makes me feel somewhat at peace is looking at the stars at night when it's quiet.

Traveling could be helpful, but there're two things important to consider. One is how you travel and what do you expect to get out of it. Cause at the end of the day, traveling is just another form of consumerism, and a very privileged one at that. Even if you have an intention to learn and have new perspective, you will never get it fully unless you actually start living a life there for at least a few years. Lots of white people come and visit countries in Asia, and even live there for a period of time, still will never get a full picture of the impact of imperialism and colonialism.

Secondly is that, no matter where you go, you can't escape yourself. People are essentially the same in many ways, no matter the location, because we are living under capitalism. Of course if you were like me growing up from a third-world country that helds stigma for being queer, moving to the West did wonders regarding that part only. But I still suffer from other pains, even more severe. It's you who is an agent of change. I'm sure you have experience this yourself at some points, but watching Anthony Bourdain shows and reading his books could be a great reference. He ended up hanging himself in a hotel in Paris, and he supposed to be happy, cause seemingly he got it all.

Coming from someone who have been moving across the world all by myself, saying these words not to discourage you, but just share a reality of traveling and moving. I do not regret one bit moving away from my country, cause I could start fresh again and be as anonymous as I want it to be. I also do not regret traveling to places, cause it sure is beautiful, but fleeting. Moments when I sit alone at airport, eat alone at restaurant etc all coming back to me how lonely I am in this big world.

Not really. I feel nothing about my surrounding when I'm suicidal. When I walk outside I tend to stare at the ground, as if it's tiring to look around...

Travelling can help a lot, specially when you do fun activities, they are refreshing. Go for it, but plan your itinerary well. Some people may still not enjoy traveling depending on their mood. But the point that you are asking this question, you are likely going to enjoy travelling. Go to places you love.. some people love beaches, while others love mountains. Go where your heart takes you

I didn't wish to answer this question, because every person is built different. I personally have travelled enough and I have enjoyed those trips. However, yes, i still wanna ctb. But that's me and my mind.. Your mind may perceive things differently. You may choose to live and enjoy once you get to enjoy life on these trips.. so, plan well so you can have a fabulous trip

I can feel you buddy 🫂❤️ it's tough to be in that situation. I don't have any desires left except one that is to attain peace.

Don't listen the ones who says it doesn't, because it does. And even if it doesn't to you, is worth to try, best case you won't want ctb anymore, worst case you will still but at least you could discover the world before dying
