I got my SN a while ago but I don't feel ready to do it yet. How long does it take to expire? The wrapping is taken off of the box but it hasn't been opened before.

Hi! I've had mine for 3 years now and I've been trying to find a source to replace it bc the supplier said it expired in 2. However, people here won't give me another source, if there still is one. Everyone swears mine will still work. After abt 2 years I finally got the idea to put it in a Ziploc bag. I wish you luck finding more if you need it. Id been away from here for about a year and I guess people thought I was a cop.
All I know is the seller from the big website I bought it from before they quit selling it said it'd last 2 years.

I would test it. You maybe just fine.
SN can be fairly stable if correctly stored. (Dark, cool,dry place)
I saw a study where SN was boiled & it survived.
Everything oxidizes with exposure to oxygen, some substances faster than others but an is stable.
If it's at 95% or better you're good to go.
Most people use "barkovation" brand aquarium test strips to test it.
