Does listening to music make you want to die less?

I feel I don't want to die when I listen to music. Even when songs are depressing. Still the thought of my reality remains in my head, leaving my plan to kill myself unchanged. Anyone finds the same?

I can agree with you to some extent. I find some songs resonate to my life and current situation. When I listen to them I feel something internally. The thoughts remains though same as you.

Music is all I have left and I can't listen to it most the time anymore unfortunately. I guess it can make me want to die less but not really

No. It used to make me feel a bit better years ago, but now I do not enjoy anything. Listening to music with headphones also makes tinnitus worse for me. Overall there is nothing that makes me want to die less, my life is constant suffering.

Depends on the song - some make me fantasize about the moments I'd be drifting into the void of nothingness. Some just make think about my hopelessness.

Music can definitely be a drug, at times makes life feel like it could almost have some meaning. Don't know if it's made me want to die less but it can help me feel emotions when I'm numb or occasionally alleviate anxiety/angst. Depending on the song and moment, it's sometimes been the only thing that's made me feel understood, even just sonically. There are times when all songs sound annoying or don't make me feel anything as well. I also record music and tend to obsess and overexpose myself to whatever I'm working on and it torments me and starts all sounding the same. Often drives me to suicidal fixations more lol. Might be related to my OCD

I don't like New Order that much lol...as for bands that are helping me right now, it's mostly Simple Minds these days.
