Does CTB run in your family?

My uncle took his own life about 40 years ago… But it never occurred the same thing would ever happen to me… He was a dark and lonely human being who lived at home with his mother and was awfully creepy…

Sounds like a description of me in 20 years.
No it is not running. I know it sounds hard but I wished someone would have died earlier in family before procreation.
Why could my really insane grandmother find a husband? She slept with many other guys I have heard.

My dad was once whining about his former slight suicidality. Normally I do not judge that. But I am in a way way more serious situation and he just does not acknowledge it. He keeps forgetting it or ignores it like every problem I have.
I am pretty sure he was way distanced to serious suicidal thoughts. He formulated something like I wished I would have never waken up. He acted like I could never imagine that. Despite the fact I have told him everything about my suicidality.

When my sister got ill I thought she would now become as suicidal as me. But she is completely resistant to ctb. She thinks life is precious and so on and so on. However now she has come to the point that she hates her life. Even now she denies suicidality. I cannot understand people denying suicide completely.

2 siblings before me: OD and full hanging. Neither was mentally ill unlike me but that does not lessen their reasons.

My grandfather ctb and gassed himself to escape the wife. My father attempted cbt by diving under a lorry. He missed the impact. ONLY my Father could have fkuukcd up like that. Then i look at me !

No, my family members enjoy life and they want to live. A few weeks ago one of them said they wanted to live until they are 100, that is something I will never understand. That is my idea of a nightmare, no matter what I will never reach old age. Life is so horrible.

Most of the family think our dead siblings were selfish and wrong to ctb. Naturally I don't think so.

Only a second cousin. My family will not expect it, my race is the lowest for suicide and my heritage is supposed to breed strong people. I'm an oddity everywhere I go though... at least I can be surrounded by other oddities here.

My aunt took her life some years ago. When that happened I never thought that I will be considering the same thing for myself.

No, the closest I can think of is my great uncle drinking soap and dying, but he had dementia and thought it was a swig of drink.

Well my grandmother and mother were both suicidal and made strong attempts on numerous occasions, especially my mother. She nearly drowned in the Thames in London, tried to jump out a high rise flat before intervention and set herself on fire (with third degree burns and many months of painful recovery) before another intervention. So, yes it is definitely in our genetics to feel suicidal.

No one in my family. But a friend in high school did. Along with someone who worked in my office.

Yes. My grandma committed suicide. She hanged herself in the stairwell.

Suicidal ideation runs in my family, especially on my father's side, though I don't think anyone attempted it.

Several suicides and attempted suicides. To say nothing of inherited depression/anxiety/addiction. Aren't genes grand?

No suicide attempts that I'm aware of but plenty of depression and other health problems.

Considering I've had this "funny" feeling about life for as long as I can remember, I don't think I ever really had a chance. I was a broken toy from the very beginning and although I did my best, it wasn't enough. My genetic make-up won the battle before it even started.

I think my mom is suicidal and that's were I get it from. She tried to CTB once but failed.
