I used to. I've been too nervous to since covid. No sick pay when you work freelance. I tend to just wait for stuff to stream now. But, I have a large TV and sit fairly close to it- so, minus all the heads in the way, it can feel similar at times.
I love a good film though. Trying to think of the last film I saw at the cinema. Not sure really. The last one that stuck in my head was 'The Good Liar'. Clever film. Pretty disturbing though.
I remember, I really enjoyed 'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms'. I had worked really hard for maybe 80 or so days in a row. I had travelled somewhere to present the work and, I finally had a weekend free. So, I got a long overdue haircut and, went to see that.
My most ridiculous experience was as a child, being taken to see 'The Never Ending Story' by my Dad and Grandma. I was pretty naive and confused and asked my Dad whether it would actually go on forever. He, equally naively told me it would- the film was on a loop. When it ended, they would play it again. So then- I just felt dread that we would be in the cinema the rest of our lives. But then, I didn't think I'd survive in the world without them and I decided I did love them so, I went along with it. I don't remember enjoying the film though! It's funny how our minds work as children.
Of the films I've streamed recently- although- not all new films. The ones that have stayed with me or, I enjoyed were: 'Midsommar', the latest 'Naked Gun'- that did make me laugh in a few places and 'Heretic'. I've watched others but, I suppose the more disturbing ones are more memorable.
Do you have a favourite genre or cinema food? I tended to go alone quite a bit. Most of the time, it felt ok. I kind of can't believe the price though. So- that was beginning to put me off. Especially when I knew I'd likely end up buying it too.
Not sure anything would tempt me back into the cinema now. I was tempted with the last James Bond but, I waited it out. They seem to release stuff quicker now I find.
