Do you think hanging is undignified?

Also when choosing a method do you take into consideration if the method is dignified or not?

I don't mind if I die in undignified way but I'm curious to know what other ppl think.

Hanging is in some countries still used as a method to publicly execute criminals and it looks very painful but hanging is actually very dignified. You pass out quick and depending on the rope you shouldnt feel much pain before that happens. The actual problem is that it takes a lot to overcome the survival instinct. Not as much as jumping off a 100f bridge or jumping in front of a train but still a lot.

Dignified or not would be a matter of personal opinion based on lot of factors .. Once you decide to ctb dignified or not does not matter .

Even though I know it doesn't ultimately matter, yeah, I do think it's undignified. Can't help it. Even though I'll already be long gone, I don't want to be found hanging from the rafters like a fucking Christmas ornament with shit and piss streaming down my legs.

i don't think there's such a thing as a "dignified" death, since what could be considered "dignified" is subjective. we all die, whether it be from our own hands, someone else's, or by the will of nature. death is just death.

I don't like hanging. Not because it might be painful but for various reasons. Your body will swell and turn blue with your tongue protruding, you will piss and shit yourself and then you will be found this way by relatives or family.

i don't think it's undignified. I can see how one can feel that way since hanging is historically used as public punishment or shaming. Regardless, who needs dignity when we are dead. I won't be there to know if they judge me.

No. Quick and lethal makes the most sense. Whatever gets me out of this misery and without failure.
Reading some suicide books they claim to be for dignity although they have suicide methods that are normal. Pentobarbital being the hot seller of each book.

I live in Canada where the assisted dying laws are changing. With the exclusion of mental illness. However if you had a physical disability you could get an assisted death. I find no dignity in the new law here. It's bill c-7 if anyone interested.

Your family finding you with a raging boner could potentially be more traumatic than finding you hanging.

Just reading the after effects I think it would be undignified for the family. It's probably my chosen method now but if I go through with it I've been thinking of some steps to take to lessen the shock of finding me. Something to work out.

No. I think it's a very grotesque scene for whomever finds the body, but I don't see the method itself as undignified. The human body undergoes multiple "gross" processes after death regardless of the method of death
