I never believed in anything spiritual or magical even if I found it a interesting topic, especially if it's something unansweared but that's beside the point. So going back to the topic do you see tarot cards as a way of looking into the future or just fun thing to to? And if you honestly believe that tarot is a legit way of reading the future how much would you bet that someone whom you know can somewhat accurately predict what will happen or what have already happen?

I just see it as a fun thing to do. 🙂 I also find the topic interesting but I do not see it as something accurate.

If people could really predict the future, psychics wouldn't need to sell their services or earn money from social media, hehehe

Not familiar with Tarot but I do readings with Lenormand and it gives nice tangible results. Took me some years of practice to really understand the system and all the rules and techniques. I do believe it works, as I keep a spreadsheet of all the readings I do, the prediction and the end result. Success rate is 70% off of 185 questions so far so not a bad ratio for something with no science behind it.

I don't think anyone can make accurate predictions without studying the system deeply and practising a lot. I don't know how Tarot is but with Lenormand there is a lot to learn: meanings of the cards in every context (love, career, family, life, school, health, etc), meanings of pairs of cards, how to read different spreads, techniques like mirroring, chaining, counting, so many things.

I'm a firm believer that just intuition gets you nowhere. Lenormand to me is 80% rules and 20% intuition.

I use tarot. Not as some mystical divination tool of the future (so, I wouldn't say I "believe" in it), but as an exercise in reframing how I look at something. I find it helpful personally.

I see it akin to dream analysis. You don't get any clear information, but it may be helpful in processing different things.

It's more like a tool for introspection.
I used to do tarot but not so much anymore.

tarot readings often play on the barnum effect, if you're willing to believe the results you'll find whatever the reader says to relate to your situation

I think it's only used as fortune telling in tv and movies. Usually it works on projection where the meaning of the cards is static and the querent interprets the meanings and applies them to their life.

Most of the time no. I have had a few readings that were spot on though and told me stuff nobody else could know but I dont think it was the tarot cards themselves but the reader could pick up peoples energy

I find the Tarot very interesting. I've been learning how to do readings and have done daily readings for myself recently. (On my profile for anyone curious.)

I don't think the cards are magic or have predictive power or anything like that.

But, I'm also not completely against spirituality. I think humans are more than sacks of meat and chemicals, and there are certain ways we can tap into that deeper dimension. I don't necessarily think it's beyond science, just beyond our current understanding. The cards help focus our thoughts in a meditative way.

Of course, if you use it as a predictor, you will just see what you want to see. If you use it as a tool for self reflection, it is an inner conversation starter. Trying to understand oneself is hard, and each card gives you a template to start. That's the value, imo. If you have someone else do the reading, you get that plus whatever their input is.

No.
For the same reasons I do not believe that a black cat brings bad luck.

If someone treats Tarot as fun, there is no problem, but taking it seriously may be a problem.

These types of things are clever lies and manipulation. Nothing more.

I think it's fun. I don't take it too seriously, but I don't completely discredit. It has its uses, and take it with a grain of salt. Like crystals or any kind of spiritual or superstitious thing. I don't really chance saying it's nonsense.

Anything that aims to predict the future is not something I will ever blindly believe however I must say that I find tarot readings interesting and entertaining, both from my irl and gaming experience. I had a guy that did free tarot readings and a religious girl was basically damning him for "witchcraft", which was a funny show to look back onto.

According to his read I put on a smile even if deep down I have a devastating sadness inside. He said that however all my sadness will be converted in happiness the following year. I doubt it happened however the sadness part was accurate.

While I don't disclose my feelings publicly irl for safety reasons for myself I found the reading funny for nailing it. Other people instead reported mysterious "heat" coming from his body towards theirs during the session and pretty much everyone was surprised by the amount of information he could read through people's mere hands. Like a sort of telepathic reading.

I won't believe it fully but it was fun and I'd love to learn how to read tarots too.

I put zero stock into it at all, but sometimes it's entertaining to listen to as background noise and funny when something is coincidentally right and hits the whole "even a broken clock" moment home. There's one guy on YT I listen to simply because he has the vibes of Bob Ross and sounds just like Tommy Chong and he's got chill but adorable old man vibes and I live for it.

Maybe this ^^ should be obvious, but can you elaborate on this? Do you mean 'just intution' in terms of readings or...?

Yes, I was referring to just intuition in terms of readings, I personally don't think it takes you anywhere. Fortune telling decks usually have rules and is by knowing those rules and symbols that one has the foundation to interpret the future. Intuition is a nice thing we can use, like a topping on a cake, but intuition alone doesn't produce accurate readings, in my opinion.

I think it's like horroscopes in a way. The meanings are often so broad that we can shape them to fit our situation. They really fascinate me though.
