• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hi to anyone reading this, is it weird to talk to yourself constantly? I talk to myself out loud or in my head and then I reply and have a full conversation with myself. I always feel like I talk to myself from different point of views. It is like talking to someone else like a friend but it is just myself, it feels like a guidance. I don't know how to explain it, it is just something I experience. Does anyone relate? Is this a mental illness or what is it?

I do that often too and have witnessed others doing it or talking about doing it quite a few times. It might be more prevalent in people who spend a lot of time alone though?

I talk to myself more in my head than I ever talk in real life. Sometimes I speak my thoughts out loud and just tell them to my dog.

A certain amount of talking to yourself is pretty normal, at least among anyone remotely neurodiverse.
If it's really 'all the time' it might get a bit unhealthy and is maybe something to look at, also depending on the nature of the self talk, but what from you told us it doesn't seem the kind that points towards multiple personalities or anything like that...

ALL THE TIME! I need to talk to myself to function in every day life. I need to talk myself through most basic actions, what I need to do, what my goals are (getting to work most days), and about everything in-between. If I get angry? I rant to myself in the comfort of my car. Tired? I coax myself into staying awake. Overwhelmed? I just gaslight myself into thinking that everything is alllll okay. Do I have things to do? I talk myself through every single step, even down to the direction I need to walk sometimes.

If I didn't talk to myself, I wouldn't be able to do everyday things or sift through basic emotions as they wash over me. It's much easier to talk to myself as if I were another person, so I can sort of analyze my thoughts, needs, or feelings as if they were happening to somebody else.
