Basically a few years ago, I OD'd on diphenhydramine and I ended up on a ventilator in icu after having seizures.

I was reading my medical notes and it said I couldn't maintain my own airway and had blood and sick in my mouth. So if I hadn't been found, I probably would have aspirated on my own vomit/blood and died. Meanwhile, I was completely unconscious, didn't feel a thing, I was out like a light.

I probably just got really lucky with my experience (or maybe unlucky cause I'm still alive) but I didn't experience the scary hallucinations and wasn't awake for any of it.

Only reason I haven't done it again is because I struggle to swallow more than a few pills now.

So yeah, maybe it's not as impossible as people say it is.

Not impossible and tbh not even hard to do. Been looking into it (scientific articles on fatality cases) and its one of my top ways to go tbh

It's not always the same for everyone hun. I overdosed on 3000mg of benadryl and was in and out of consciousness for 3 days. I had multiple seizures and was also in the ICU.

It's a very problematic method because of the chances of survival that and the long term effects after survival.

OD'ing can work, but it's a very case to case scenario generally, or at least with pharmaceutical drugs. It can depend on previous medical issues or undetected conditions or health risks. It's not something that should be attempted on a whim I guess.

Hope it left you with no outstanding medical issues.

I was lucky I didn't have any physical health problems after it

Zopiclone are much more powerful than Diphenhydramine. I blacked out on just two of those.........and combined with being under water. Benadryl is waste of time

I personally wouldn't use it as a method unless I was desperate but I do have a little Benadryl snack every day.

I've eaten upwards of a gram at a time and was blacking out but didn't die and it was also terrifying because I had forgotten I took anything and was hearing loud voices everywhere I wouldn't count on dph.

can you link the benadryl fatality cases you've found? i'm also looking into diphenhydramine as a serious method. i feel like as long as you do it in an isolated area or somewhere secluded in your car, then you won't be found and brought to the hospital. when i was looking into myself a lot of ODs have failed because they were found by family members or someone saw them passed out. i think that people legitimately can die from dph if they overdose on it.

benadryl and benadryl mixed with dxm is the only OTC drug you can overdose on nowndays. alcohol works too but it isnt OTC unless your over 18 if your under 18 you must steal it

not the op but ive been researching about diphenhydramine and dxm fatal overdose as i am considering it as my first choice to ctb. here are some research/article i found about it:)

i believe it can work especially when you combine it with other medications but will prob work on its own if you take a large enough amount

I feel like the dose isn't the problem, it's being able to swallow that many pills without vomiting. That's my current issue to work around

i read that you can use a mortar and pestle to grind the pills up, then pour the powder into a cup of water. an otc antiemetic like dramamine would help too.

Dramamine gets broken down into diphenhydramine in the body. Dramamine is basically just diphenhydramine with a salt on the end of it. By the way, have you used dph recreationally? People can get high on it, but it's pretty terrible on your brain, body, and you only really would do it if you can't get your hands on something less horrible.

I've grinded them up before and blended with ice cream and peanut butter to ingest, the taste was so horrific it was genuinely impossible to take down unfortunately

Yes, many OD methods can actually work. The problem is they do not work reliably for everyone, and there is a moderate chance of you coming out the other side worse than before, which is why a do not recommend them.
