Mine did not, sort of. I never told them I was thinking about ctb, but the physical toll it took on me (huge weight gain to huge weight loss over and over, to generally disinterest in things) and that severed the relationship

Yes and no. I've had partners try their best to support me, but I think the majority of them just didn't take me or my pain seriously. Or they expected that I'd be able to handle things that were incredibly traumatic without trouble.

I have a tendency to pick partners that are not emotionally intelligent, or just don't feel much emotion at all. It's caused a lot of problems for me throughout my life, but I don't know how to change who I'm attracted to.

The one gf I had in my lifw never had any clue about how I really felt inside from the start of our relationship to its end. Probably would have ended a lot sooner if she did.

The first one was supportive. Still messages me from time to time. I don;t know why. But her support didn't strike home. She's a good person, but we didn't really understand each other.
The rest of them... shit luck. The only way they "helped" me was making my mental state even worse.

my best friend is the only person i've really told about mental struggles. they are amazing, i know they are worried about me but they still try to be gentle and supportive. they have been a close friend for almost a decade. when i try to withdraw from friends, i never manage to actually do so with them. i feel bad because well i love them you know. i dont want them to worry, but they are genuinely such a valuable and supportive presence in my life.

i was gonna say they didnt really fit in the title, but i suppose they are technically also an ex. i never told any other exes, they had their own shit and im glad the relationships didnt last.

ZERO period.

Never had or have had anyone for that, it is me and myself only.

Yes and no. In general I'd say my boy-friend wants to help me, but is easily overwhelmed when I am in a bad way. The first time I felt really bad during our relationsship was early on in the relationship when being with him (as it was the first time I actually fell in love) caused me to be haunted by bad memories from my childhood. Although he tried to comfort me he seemed not to know what he can do to help and seemed to be stressed by it which caused him to be not that helpful. But it improved a lot when I explained to him that I don't expect him to fix me, that I know that I have to find a way to deal with these memories and that it will take time, but that it helps, if he is simply there and cuddles me when I ask him to. Although I sometimes had suicidal ideation I didn't really want to kill myself at the time, because it was obvious that I felt bad because of bad things that others had done to me and it goes against my principles to give shitty people that much power over me to give in to their wrongdoings and off myself.

When I felt bad this summer when I had to come back from an overseas trip due to health reasons my boy-friend wasn't supportive at all. Although he allowed me to crash for 2 weeks at his place, he made it very clear that he wanted to have me out of his appartment asap and on an emotional level he wasn't supportive at all. It seemed that apart from it being too much for him not to have his private space while I stayed with him, he couldn't stand me being really gloomy. I didn't mention my suicidal ideation to him, because he just acted like I was exaggerating, so I turned to my friends for support instead.
