How can death be changing? I mean it's a dead end or "end of the race" line therefore you will not able to see the change after death happen

I want the change that death brings, all that I want is to be gone from this world. My life is just meaningless suffering and to me life is just so pointless and unnecessary. I want to be at peace and when I am dead nothing can hurt me anymore. The thought of eternal nothingness comforts me a lot.
