Was feeling optimistic about my appointment today trying to get off my Seroquel and was trying to ask for something to help with rebound insomnia when I got off. My new psychiatrist just said that if I had any rebound anxiety and insomnia that it was a sign I needed the Seroquel and my original condition was returning (when it literally makes me suicidal). He didn't give me anything for the withdrawals lmfao. He just said a 23 year old shouldn't have insomnia and usually for sleep issues he just recommends melatonin. I'm a chronic insomniac. I've tried melatonin lmfao. When I had called to first schedule an appointment his receptionist said he did prescribe medication like ambien, etc. for sleep. Which seems like bullshit now. He's the closest actual MD psychiatrist to me with the best reviews so I guess I'm just fucked. I hope trying to go off Seroquel doesn't kill me. I woke up at 6 am for this appointment when I usually don't do that because I thought he would do something to actually help me.

Sometimes expectations form based on our hopes rather than what is actual. This often leads to disappointment. For insomnia one can take GABA. There is also Valerian root which is supposed to help, but it does smell swamp like.

Even psychiatrists are prisoners of their system. They treat their clients like components on a conveyor, but they are on the same conveyor themselves. They cannot afford to treat their patients like people and dig into each one to find the best solution. They are not given time and if they do anything unusual, they can get sued.

Do you have restless leg syndrome or any other kind of iron deficiency disease?

sucks to hear that he does not understand you and helps you in the way you had hoped. Regardless of the reviews, can you try to visit another one? Maybe you can find a person better suited to your needs and wishes? I hope you can find one
