Discussion Cute or cuddly or horror-themed gifts for someone in recovery

Asking here because it's something so oddly specific. Don't necessarily expect perfect results.
I have a...very interesting but close friend of mine who has struggled a lot with suicidal thoughts and social anxiety in the past but is currently well on their road to recovery. This friend tends to love all sorts of cute things like plushies and animals, but also has always had this wierd fascination with horror movies, nightmares, slasher villains, and that type of thing. They explained to me once that this fascination developed as a response to their thoughts of self-harm and childhood nightmares. They just developed this attachment to those themes of lingering death and fear.
I have this crazy idea that if I can find some sort of perfect plushie or trinket or gift or anything for them to represent their progress, it would probably make their entire year and probably help them a ton. I did find out about Plushie Dreadfuls while searching online and it almost seemed like exactly what I wanted, but they don't have any gifts that relate specifically to horror or violence or suicide, so I'm still searching for something that fits them better.
Does anyone have any ideas for something similar to that that could work as a gift? Sorry I know this is hyper-specific and not sure if I'm explaining it all very well but I know I have the chance to help them a lot. Open to any suggestions.

They make like theme plushies based on mental health, so you have like a depression rabbit, anxiety rabbit and more! Some of the designs are quite edgy but ultimately they're all really cute! ( ＾▽＾)d

I second this and came to suggest the same! I have 2 plushies from them and a smaller one as a keychain, and they're adorable and weird, with very nice, soft textures and things like accessories and secret pockets ^_^

First question if you can crochet. If you do, you can always choose their favorite animal, go to pintrest and search for [animal] plushie horror or just plushie horror
Something that has safety pins should be meaningful I think (because of safety pins meaning)
There are also more on the nose thing that's I think you can buy on ¿amazon? plushie like the one on the photo

Dunno. For me something like zombie or skeleton would make sense as that's exactly how I feel after failing attempts



Or any stitched up toy/stitched bunny could make sense
My advice is to go with crochet, as crocheting isn't actually as hard once you know basic stitches + you could do it with the texture they'd like + you can make it special and exactly as you want. The only problem it takes some focus, so I don't blame you if you skip on crochet
P.s. I am trying to boycott amazon, I know how bad it is, it's just quick for searching and you can probably find something like that if you have a big mall nearby or on alternative websites. I am always up to "buy less, create more" and can give you tips if you'll struggle crocheting (in case you'll decide on that) or you can always use Pinterest as reference and pay someone on Etsy, but it's not going to be cheap
