Hey guys, I tried finding an answer online but information seems scarce. Is a car from 1979 old enough to emit proper amounts of CO? After inspection, It turns out there isn't a catalytic converter. Would turning it on in a garage potentially effect neighbors? Does the absence of a converter make this method reliable?

I believe a 1979 car would have catalytic converter so it would not be suitable to ctb with

Catalytic converters, more commonly known as 'cats', have been a legal requirement on all new petrol and diesel cars since 1993

I'd say seen as your car is 14yrs younger than when it became mandatory, it won't have a catalytic convertor

I just checked under the car, and it looks like it doesn't have one. I guess now I just have to figure out the proper way to go through with it.

It seems like the converter was removed, I didn't see it anywhere on the exhaust
