Chat Page?

Hi, new member here and not very tech savvy. I've seen mention of a chat page but don't see where it is? Is this only for long established accounts like the search bar? Thank you

Yeah, I'm new too. I think it's for people who've been a member for a little while. I'm guessing it's just to keep spam/scam and ne'er-do-wells out of it. The length of time waiting would probably be long enough for trolls to lose interest in targeting members

No problem. This site is great, I came here for encouragement and information on how to properly ctb but there is a catharsis in being able to honestly and openly talk about it. It's a huge contrast to what the outside world thinks help looks like but it's a comfortable and safe space for us

I think that maybe you need a few more posts, and then the chat page should show up. (It should be at the top of the screen) At least that is the case for the search function, which is available when someone has a certain amount of posts.

I'm new too and I think I read somewhere that you have to have a certain number of posts before that feature is available.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. I've been a 'lurker' for a few years, fascinated by how openly people are able to discuss their true feelings and intentions on such a public forum. And as someone who has had suicidal thoughts my whole life but for various reasons have not been able to openly and honestly confide in those around me, I found a strange comfort being here. If I'm totally honest, I'm still trying to figure out whether this is a good place for me to be or not but agree that in being a safe space, perhaps being able to identify with others might be better than battling through thoughts alone. Time will tell.
