Charcoal method and respirator mask

I tested it and it produced smoke for like 20 minutes.
Do you think a respirator mask will block the smoke but not the carbon monoxide? Thanks.

From my understanding charcoal method, one should bring charcoal inside when it stops smoking. Otherwise you just gonna smoke up your place, not effective.

If one risks being found out, I imagined using a respirator mask inside a sealed room.
