It gets better. I didn't join the site for that reason, but I had left and returned for that reason. I won't promise any timeline and it may not be linear, but I can promise, overall, it gets better with time.

I can't promise you anything else about the future but this will get better. It hurts like hell now but you will get over it. It may take a long time but you will get there.

if you want to get over him and move on with your life then yes it will get better. my gf broke up with me but i have nothing left and she was the only future i ever wanted so for me personally i dont even want it to get better. but you can get past it, just give it time and keep yourself busy.

If moving on to some other prospect while your older and repeating the process as most of us have done ad infinitum then no, it doesn't get better.

If you dwell on the issue it also, doesn't get better.

Shit tends to stay the same, we just get better at hiding it.

I'm 35, am I in a better place then when I split with my first girlfriend at about your age?

Not really.

I'm just more dead inside.

It will get better! He's just a bad partner for you, and it's okay, you will find much better in the future. You're young and free!

I am also here for similar reasons, to comfort you I will say that if you can withstand the pain it will get better. But I also won't lie to you that the pain will stay with you forever. In an invisible and often unnoticeable form, but it will stay.

I'm going through the same thing right now, so I don't know for sure. It's been a month for me and I already feel worse as the days go by. He was the only man I ever wanted, the guy I dreamed of, and now he's gone. Hasn't even messaged me in over 3 weeks. I feel like I was just used and discarded as if I meant nothing to him. Idk what to do. Everything sucks now.

Even if you may see it differently at the moment, your first breakup is an important turning point in your life. You will learn to get involved with a new partner and accept your own strength. After that, life will seem easier.
