best rope is one that is thick and strong like the rope you would use to rrock climb. you don't want your body weight to collapse on the rope to break

There is information about hanging in the resource sections, I have never attempted personally, so I cannot share anything from my own experiences. I do envy those with the courage for this method, to me it sounds difficult and risky which is what keeps me from attempting.
