Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Guys, what are your views on the term 'rescued'. I've read so many stories where people were 'rescued' just in time and it doesn't sit well with me. Surely rescuing is saving someone from a situation that person doesn't want to be in.... Like a fire or a murder. But can someone be rescued from taking their own life? And surely alot of times, being 'rescued' leads to irreversible damage to the individual making life even more unbearable. Let me know your thoughts x

"Interrupted" would be a better word for it. Prevented, interfered with, stopped, inconvenienced ...

I think the term is just to make people who interrupt feel good & accomplish something.

It's a strange choice of words. Stopped might be a more blunt and accurate word to use.

It's a pro life view. They think we've been rescued because they think that suicidal thoughts are always wrong and that we want to live deep down.

Pro-life people don't rescue anyone because the suicidal persons problems aren't being addressed. They momentarily delay a persons suicide using force and then they wash their hands of them because helping them in a humane or meaningful way is inconvenient.

The same person will still commit suicide a week, month, or year later because their circumstances haven't changed.
