Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I would've talked this over with a warm line but they're always swamped.
So I have ADHD I just started my new job and I'm in the probationary period so I'm not revealing my disability to anyone at work until I pass that. This is relevant because I try really hard to do things the right way and not be a disappointment like usual

I pissed off my boss bad today. Didn't mean to, it's my first full time job and I wanted to ask questions just to make sure I wasn't messing up. I thought that it was the right thing to do. But nah I got chewed out instead. My plan going forward is it just not ask questions and just figure it out myself because I just can't take the chewing out. I hate being oversensitive so I've slowly allowed a few years to come through , but no sobs and not in front of everyone.

Anyone else have experience and advice on this ?

Sadly it is very hard to trust people at jobs with our vulnerabilities and doubts.... I made that mistake and paid quite a bit for it... or perhaps not.... most people think stuff like ADHD or autism is fake, an excusve to be lazy, etc. I expect comprehension when I told people about these things but only got more accusations of being lazy. My boss became mora aggressive since I revealed my autism diagnosis to him and is being completely passive-aggressive about my requirement of accomodations (which needs to go through him).

And because it pays somewhat well family doesn't understand when I say I want to leave, friends don't understand.... but I am just so tired of being treated badly by everyone. I know a new job won't be a guarantee of a nicer treatment, but the atmosphere of the current one seems so poisoned already.... that is hard to imagine how it could get worse.

But anyway, at work don't overshare, don't trust and don't rely on anyone else. This is a recipe for being stabbed in the back.

Agreed. Yeah I'll just stay quiet about personal stuff at work and I'll update my resume as I gain more skills. The money is fine and the benefits are supposedly great, but I cannot stand being chewed out for being earnest and wanting to do my job as well as I possibly can.

Bad bosses are everywhere. Bosses that thinks a new guy can do the job of the older and trained employees without guidance is everywhere.

As i don't know the exact situation and the vibe of your boss, some suggestion come in mind :

1. Do what you're already trying to do, bot ask question and just do what you think is right. I did that 3 times, two of the times my boss appreciates it. The third time i got chewed up to all hell in front of my co worker (cause i made a mistake).

2. Ask a co worker, if available.

3. Ask your boss but make sure that it isn't:
Anything super technical, anything that has to do with basics (spelling, how to use office software, etc) and anything that they've already told you before.
