Hi I'm from Australia, male age 27 and I just want to in the most polite way state this. I want to DIE. Peacefully, without pain or fear. I want to die, be buried 6ft under and forgotten and move on. I've tried the Nitrogen method until my ears started ringing, losing sense of my surroundings etc. Initially it felt like getting numb dots all over my face, which was very uncomfortable. Second and third attempt were better. I think maybe my face got used to it. 3rd time it wasn't the most pleasant but possible and is intimidating to continue through with it until I pass out. Charcoal is too complicated with a tent, etc. My 3rd and final option is to go through the assisted suicide overseas in the Netherlands, Belgium or Switzerland etc. and apply for it stating I've been suffering depression for many years due to my self harm scars & hair loss and I don't want to live. Could somebody please supply me with an application link or what needs to be done. Like the government needs to stop forcing people who don't want to live to continue on. I'm a $20000 annual financial burden anyway so long as I live. So killing me is better. Even if my cuts magically disappeared, I don't want to live with the psychological trauma the rest of my life. I'm mentally scarred. What can I do to get them to accept me for assisted dying? Here in Australia it's only for those with severe terminal illness. I've got a dozen cuts in my forearm and have been on Centrelink payments for all my 20s unable to work and am now heading in the directions towards long term disability because my mental health is worsening with my previous suicide attempt at 23 from hanging and I sincerely humbly beg God I gain the courage to kill myself with Nitrogen once I've setup my mini mask setup which is less claustrophobic than a full face mask. I want an end to this and it be Final. I believe in a higher power behind the universe/life, but I don't know what or who it is. Call it god or whatever. I've begged it over and over to just take me and as always, no response. Do I have to climb up a mountain like Moses and do some ritual for it to accept, go to Makkah etc? I'm done.

When I wanted to join Dignitas, I simply printed out their application, filled it out, scanned it, and emailed it to them. I'm not sure if they'd approve of assisted suicide for someone diagnosed with depression. Their services are quite expensive

Money is not an issue. I want to die.

Why didn't you go through with it. Did you hear back from them?

You encounter three major obstacles if you attempt to pursue the assisted-suicide route. First, it is highly unlikely that it would be approved on the basis of mental illness alone. Second, you need family members who support your decision. Third, their support must be formalized in a contract and publicly notarized. In my case, in the UK, I was unable to have it notarized or publicly certified due to legal and regulatory concerns.

Pegasos is the most liberal of the Swiss VAD organizations. They may possibly accept you (probably not) due to your young age, but your family will absolutely have to sign off on it, notarized documents and what not, and possibly have to accompany you to your voluntary assisted death. They take foreigners from all countries. Just email them with your questions.

Not sure about Belgium or the Netherlands. You'll have to look that up.

What ? But I've seen two people from England get euthanized a few months ago without seemingly any issues ?

It's almost impossible to get a green light from any of the Swiss VAD organizations solely for mental illness as a young person. Only Pegasos will really help you with that, and if so, requires family approval, notarized documents, and possibly them travelling with you to your appointment.

If you're over 50 years old or have a terminal illness, then it's much easier.

these people who were successful, most likely got green lighted before Pegasus tightened up procedures in the last 6 months. Pegasos told me I had to get all my documents notarized, this is a new requirement that was introduced recently because of backlash from pro-lifers after a woman from UK lied about having family support when she didn't.

I looked at their website, I'm afraid to do all the paperwork and not be accepted..., that they are like everyone else and demand terminal illness, right?

If you're under 50 and it's solely for mental illness, yes it will be hard. If they accept you, it will require your family's notarized approval and other documents. With that being said, Pegasos is still your best bet.

What if I was over 50 years old and had no family?

SCB, First, I've chatted with depressed individuals in their late thirties who applied to Pegasos & were denied. It's a moot issue until you're significantly older. Second, I wish you the best with the new mask, I understand you're claustrophobic, but I honestly believe the negative effects you experienced could be avoided with an exit bag. And since the bag would be full of gas, it should actually have less contact with your face than any mask. I think the mask is what's standing between you and a peaceful departure. But I'm not sure you're ready. Do not attempt unless you're ready.

I will try the bag method. Could you suggest one pre-made like those hoods. If I hyperventilate before breathing the nitrogen, will I pass out faster and less painfully.

I'm also in Australia. If you find a method, pls let me know. Also if you find access to a firearm, I'd be interested in cbt together as part of a pact.
Pls let me know your thoughts.

Firstly I don't want to be involved together secondly firearms are a bad idea. The only option for me left is to hyperventilate and breath in nitrogen
