ASAP answer please, do I have a shot at dying cutting the saphenous vein of the thigh?

I'm a frequent self harmer especially on my thigh and I feel I can cut the saphenous vein. It's on the inner thigh not too deep. I'm wondering if one will be enough to do the job or if I'd be required to cut both?

I'm pretty sure if you cut an artery, one can do the job. I don't know if a vein will be enough.

Veins can close themselves up, probably not very reliable.

I have no knowledge of what you ask. BUT, it is so sad that people who are suicidal can't leave this world in a quiet, serene way. In a way of their choosing not of desperation. To know that suicide is against the law (in the US at least) is so stupid is beyond my comprehension. I hope that you find peace.

Youd need to get an artery. Veins will clot before you lose any significant amount of blood.

Not a good method. I tried something similar a couple of years ago. It won't bleed more than a pint or two max before it will clot. You'll just have a big mess to clean up. Arteries are probably another story but I don't have experience with that, sorry.
