Are you single?

I'm single. Part of the reason though is that I don't want to hurt anyone who I may end up in a relationship with. About 5 years ago I was in a relationship and it brought out all the worst parts of me and it probably caused more harm than good. I feel like loneliness or just having some close friends is preferable to all the unpredictability of a romantic relationship...

I'm single and not looking for a relationship; I don't have any drive to search for a significant other and have never seen any person in that way, ever. I do not mind people who have relationships, they can do whatever they want; however most people I've found start ignoring you once they get into one and it kind of sucks no matter how you look at it.

It is however my bad, I should have told them that I expect we are not a scarecrow for each other "waiting for the chosen one" , to me that sounds so pointless and childish.
"We've been friends for 15 years, today I met the love of my life whom I know for 15 minutes, goodbye" Didn't have that happen TO ME necessarily (at that level, I've had it happen to me, just not that extreme) but it still happens everyday to many people. And society says I'm the mentally ill reject who is a weakling and doesn't understand anything about life. Projection is hard baked into our current society and so is the lack of self-awareness.






Side Rant.

"But you don't get it, that's just how humans work, that's human nature". What today is normalcy (not talking about relationships here, just general), might be illegal in 700 years, the fact that you can hear this and ponder on it yet in the end choose not to change ANYTHING? It just shows me that you deep down know what you do is wrong and you don't give a fuck, you just like to abuse the system. If everyone does it, I should also do it!!!
I respect those who at least admit that all of our actions we do are fucked and barbaric; the known devil is better than the unknown one.

...all my serious relationships spawned naturally from social or serendipitous situations. i have never had any luck at all from actively "dating" which i find is a vile cutthroat game in this day, age and part of the world...

This is my problem as well. I cannot go anywhere to meet people. I always met my partners while out living my life, and now that's not happening.
