I'm on perazine for anxiety right now. It's an antipsychotic, helps my brain to shut up for a bit.

Im on it for 4 years its quite neat actually, i take it with fluoexetine and its good combo for me, pregabeline makes you calmer and more stable and helped me with having oversensitive skin and nervous system; certain materials or things would feel unbearable for me but with pregabeline its okay.

You can also get high on it from what i know, tho once i tried to overdose it and the only feeling i felt was extreme headache, nothing high, combining with alcohol didnt do anything either.

Technically I am on a benzo but I'm only on it once a day. I'm mainly on clondine which is not a benzo it's a blood pressure med tho. Which you have to be careful taking it can have side effects dropping blood pressure. I also take buspar. Long acting anxiety med. I do take klonopin only in extreme situations. Once a day at most maybe four times a week. But I take clonidine probably 2-3 times a day

Mirtazapine

The GP said it had no side effects or dependecy. It does. I suggest you read up on it before enquiring medically.
That medicine increases you appetite l, be careful.
Hydroxyzine is prescribed for anxiety as well. I take benzos two times a day. And I take clonidine because my blood pressure and heart rate is always high.

So with a high dose you got a serious headache? Did it dull your senses? Make you sleepy?

The only thing that remotely comes close to the anxiolytic effects of benzos is probably gabapentin. SSRI's/SNRI's are mixed bags. The other shit they give you like hydroxyzine or buspar don't work. Benzos are the best for anxiety unfortunately. Gabapentin imo is just a more mild form of a benzo.

I don't know much about benzos or drugs, but don't benzos last a really long time and have a really long halflife? Doesn't taking it twice a day build up in your system hardcore? I googled and it says klonopin takes 6 days to get out of your system. So if you take klonopin 2x a day, I mean, it adds up a lot doesn't it? Because even 6 days later when you take klonopin, you still have the klonopin dose from last week that's still in your system.

I'm just not sure how it works, and I'm a bit scared of trying them.

Idk I only take it like 3 or 4 times a week but yeah they work for like 8 hours for my anxiety versus my clonidine only helps for like 3 hours

Some pills have combinations. For example, a mood stabilizer also serves to reduce anxiety

Mirtazapine

I tried Mirtazapine.

It made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to actually feel like I had eaten enough food. I put on about 40 lbs with that stuff, just gorging myself on it.

But! Citalopram was giving me brain zaps (those who are familiar with them know how bad they are), and the brain zaps wouldn't go away even after I stopped the citalopram. After just a week or so of mirtazapine the brain zaps went and haven't come back.

For anxiety, I take pregabalin.
It's not very strong in small doses, but it's something.

Although in doses sufficient for more or less noticeable anxiety relief, it causes me a very unpleasant feeling of derealization. But maybe it's just me.

I used to take baclofen, it's more powerful and without unpleasant side effects for me. But really addictive.

I've been looking for a better anxiety reducer than propranolol and I find the answer on this threads helpful, I'm glad

I take propranolol, it really dulls down the anxiety. It's made it way more manageable.

Yeah I am on Pregabalin I used to be on Benzos but in EU doctors really don´t like it so I tried Zoloft which gave me insane anxiety attacks and then Pregabalin and it helps a lot.
