Anyone find themselves somewhat “studying” videos?

I sometimes watch suicide videos on sites to not only get ideas of success, lethality, appearance of the corpse afterward etc but it also has pulled me back from those lows just as much as it can push me into them.

Yes. As far as I've seen gunshot provides instant release. This forum often makes it seem like a careful science but in the vids ive watched its just a guy with a low caliber gun aiming at any random point on his head, pulling the trigger and instant unconsciousness. Its made me more relieved and confident

Exactly, however I have issues with how my corpse would look and act after I lost consciousness (GSW or something else) because I was a medic and know what it looks and sounds like, that in itself is something that keeps me alive.

I studied the video of the guy who live streamed his partial. It was helpful. I timed his responses. Then later I a found a study of six partials that had been videoed, and they listed the times of each stage, matched the video I saw. I wouldn't want to watch videos of violent methods because I don't intend to use one. Wish there were SN videos, but appreciate so much the thread documenting Moonicide's ctb.

Yeah that's pretty much what I do, but I keep this info for later use so when I'm ready it's not one of those "okay now let me research reallllllll quick"

I saw that and thought that was honorable of her to do that and give others comfort or at least an accountable experience. I also was glad someone pointed out her groaning and snoring sounds were probably her actual moments of death and not her suffering, I know that could/would freak people out. It's essentially your tongue and everything relaxing, fluids pooling up and agonal respirations occurring.

I checked out a few videos of partial hanging and people drinking N so I can see the process. This was only back when I was researching methods.

Yeah there were a couple of those videos posted. You explained the mechanics.
