I think I've found my anchor point. What I'm worried about is when I test it, if there's a chance it breaks, I'd have to explain to my roommates why it broke. I don't see any valid excuse other than telling the truth because something like that doesn't just break.

I'd test it discreetly first and with smaller weight, not sure what you anchor is but I'd google it and see roughly how much weight it can take

If it breaks when testing maybe you could tell them you tripped and fell hard onto it. Or try and reinforce it somehow to make it stronger.

I have the same issue. My anchor point is a hook on the ceiling, and my roommates know that I've been suicidal before.
