• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Yes everybody does lie. What differentiates people is how much they lie, and whether or not the intentions behind their lying are good.

Absolutely. It's a massive lie that the people who run this world have been keeping up for centuries. People who are unhappy have opened their eyes and realized this whole thing is a lie. Human beings lie to others and to themselves because lying allows you to cope with the harsh realities of life. When the lies and copes run out, you lose your will to live. You realize that the la la fantasy lie about everything being perfect and wonderful is false. If you don't have money, looks, or status, you will suffer in life. Humans are attracted to good-looking, high status people. All relationships (family, friend, romantic) are a transaction and trade of resources. True love doesn't exist and no one loves anyone unconditionally. Human beings are selfish, superficial, shallow, and greedy. No denying it

100% honesty never works in life, just like in the movie 'Interstellar'. Lying to others is human. What's damaging is when we lie to ourselves. And for far too long have I been lying to myself. Only when I realized it it's too late.

If that statement were true no-one's answer to the question is to be trusted. It's the paradox of the liar: if a liar tells you he's lying to you does he speak the truth or not?

I think every single human has the capacity to be dishonest, and probably have been to some degree or the next in their lives. We're born with intrinsic worth and dignity that we're told pushes us to be fully honest, but every person has the ability to lie. Some saying they've never lied may be a lie in itself.

Either lying as a kid about something small they hide from their parents, or someone lying to an abusive family or abusive partner out of self preservation and a sense to keep yourself out of being persecuted or abused more, or otherwise.

I've noticed as an abuse survivor I have a tendency to hide things or lie more than I should, about small things like where I'm going when I leave the house or what food I eat, it's tough to shake.

There's no telltale way to know if a liar is lying unless you know what to look for, but even then, how could you say for certain until the truth is pulled out, if it ever is? All truths can be questionable at that point.

I think the day it hits you how just corrupt humans really are it amazes you that civilizations even developed. But I guess lying therefore is part of human nature and must play a part in how our societies evolved. But from judges to doctors, police to politicians, the baker to the bin man, I think it is inescapable that people lie to some extent.

Yes, all people lie. There is levels to it though. Have you ever met a sociopath? Those people lie all the time and sometimes seemingly for no reason.
