Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

1. What happened?
We experienced a service interruption caused by an unexpected issue on our infrastructure provider's end. This made the site inaccessible for approximately 48 hours.

2. Was any data lost?
No. All user data, posts, and accounts are intact.

3. Why did it take so much time to restore?
We had to wait for the provider to resolve the issue on their side. During that time, we ensured everything was safe and ready to come back online immediately once service was restored.

4. Is everything stable now?
Yes. The site is back online and functioning normally.

5. What's being improved?
We're implementing additional safeguards behind the scenes to reduce the risk of this type of outage happening again.

6. Thank you for your patience
We appreciate everyone who stuck with us through the downtime. Everything is back to normal now.

No,no thank you for everything you are doing. TBH I do get a bit anxious whenever this platform goes down for maintenance but this time, It wasn't that bad as before because I knew that you guys must be working hard to get the platform back online. God bless you and lots of love.

Thank you. I was wondering what happened. My concern was that the anti-choice people succeeded in getting the site shut down.

At one point the error message said to contract the site admin. I thought yeah right like everyone on this forum has each other's contact info and we're all Facebook friends. :))

Yeah, I honestly thought the anti-choice holier-than-thou people had gotten it shut down for good. I'm glad it turned out to be a fixable technical problem.

Hey I just read an article saying the UK is causing problems for the site. Are we in danger of being shut down? Do we have a backup plan?

Aforementioned article: https://www.theguardian.com/technol...ne-safety-act-after-failing-to-block-uk-users

I'm so relieved that the only non-judgmental and supportive community that exists through this forum won't be destroyed by the site's closure. Every time the site is inaccessible, I panic because I have no one to talk to and be listened to about such sensitive or intimate topics (even anonymously). Thank you to the administrators for your strength in keeping this vital community alive—the only place where people listen that, paradoxically, gives me a reason to live.

The only real risk is DNS blocking by the UK. If this forum is hosted outside the UK and any other country that might have similar intentions to shut it down, the risk is considerably reduced. However, you will need to change your DNS service to replace that of your internet or telecom provider, or even use a VPN to bypass the geographical blocking by your country.

thank you for working so hard and getting this place back up ❤️
Wow they really have nothing better to do. Articles full of bullshit as usual lmao this site was not made to groom and coerce young people (who would literally get banned instantly once mods are aware) nor is it trying to coerce anyone else.

I don't think they'd get the site shut down though. they can try throw whatever restrictions they want but UK users will still find a way in the end, I wouldn't mind getting a bit techy in order to find another loophole if they were to place further restrictions

Fucking joy. I don't think the US is willing to work with Ofcom thankfully.

NO - PGP verification or key in signature.

No - Proof that SaSu is secure, and not compromised.

2 days give PLENTY of time to backdoor or gain acess.

With many LEO and GOV hating this site idk man.

"We experienced a service interruption caused by an unexpected issue on our infrastructure provider's end."

Im still sketched. Will use with caution. Tread carefully.

Just saying since this is MAJOR and not something small.....

Feels sketchy and compromising withought reassurance that you still have acess and full controll of servers and nothing was compromised....

I understand that things happen out of anyone's control. However, it might be very beneficial if there were some mechanism devised that could inform members en masse as to what is happening in order to quell speculation and panic amongst some members. Perhaps a mass emailing of some sorts?

Setup and use Uptime Monitor.

not sure what proof u would need to believe but the site isn't compromised.

most of the time, IT outages aren't really that exotic.
