Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Someone, in one post, mentioned being a very sensitive person. Other than hearing "you're too sensitive" too many times in my life, I never thought of it as anything but a character flaw. It sort of whispered in my brain, ignored, then yesterday there was a typical incident that threw me smack into the Pit again, and the whisper became louder so this morning, I did a search and OMG!! There I am!! And probably most of us here! And it isn't a character flaw.

You have to be kidding! I am 69 years old next month and I have never heard of this (search Highly Sensitive Person) and have beaten myself up so much all of my life and NOW you tell me it is something with which you are born and NOT something wrong with me?? Does everybody but me know about this? Holy crap.

All the time and energy spent trying to find reasons why I am so "crazy"...I was not abused as a child, I am not dependent on chemicals (rarely drink alcohol and no drugs other than OTC stuff now and then), had a good and stable career, am financially secure, have a nice middle class home, so why am I so eff'd up?? Why are relationships so difficult when I almost crave human contact, yet have withdrawn and built up such a high wall to protect myself? I blame myself for being wrong every time and now I find out nope, not wrong.

Wow. Now to learn how to deal with this at this very late stage of this life.

I don't know who mentioned this in their post, but if you are reading this, Thank You!

O M G... this changes Everything.

Maybe I am the only person here unfamiliar with this, but if you are in this same boat, look it up. It's so plain! Forehead slap.
