Just wanted to share one of my fav apps - Youtube Vanced and Youtube Music Vanced. These are for Android phones only - sorry iPhone users. These are basically ad-free versions of Youtube and Youtube Music that also allow background play (both keep playing with the screen off or when other apps are used.
You have to download the manager from https://vancedapp.com/ install MicroG first, then youtube and youtube music. Here's more info on XDA: https://www.xda-developers.com/youtube-vanced-apk/
My phone is rooted, but I prefer the non-root version. Then I use Titanium Backup to freeze Youtube.
