There doesn't seem to be proof that this really happened. I googled it and didn't find anything serious.

Even if someone died, it may have been an allergic shock. That can happen to anyone after taking any medication or vaccine. Or after eating certain food. I've even heard of a case where someone was not allergic to nuts and suddenly developped an allergy and ended up in the hospital after eating nuts again.

That happened to me. I suddenly developed a nut allergy and at first thought something was very wrong with the bag of nuts I got. I later realized I got sick every time I ate nuts, especially almonds.
