People subscribe to all kinds of things out of curiosity... some people love watching a train wreck and can't help themselves. Imagine having a pay-per-view trainwreck channel and you might be surprised how many would subscribe to that.

People love dogs so ugly they think them cute... so maybe, someone would pay to torment themselves with the sights of someone disgusting like me.

That's not entirely true either imo. The average earnings on OF are misleading, since a large number of women sign up but rarely upload content or remain inactive.

Here's an interesting catch-22 to me...

A lot of people say they wouldn't consider something like this because they wouldn't want strangers to objectify them, like people they encounter in the real world who would judge them or imagine them naked or whatever because of knowing about their OnlyFans page.

BUT

A lot of people say they feel like they are always objectified anyway... whether they do anything or not... in which case, I wonder... IF you truly felt like you were always going to be objectified whether you had an OnlyFans or not... then why wouldn't you go ahead and do the OnlyFans and at least make money? I mean, if you feel like most people are horrible and judgy and objectifying... at least this way you'd turn a profit on what you think people are already imagining about you anyway.

i think about it often & have been considering it since i was 16 (legal in my state), but that level of serious introspection also involves a lot of serious research, & like, a lot of women who do it say the social aspect is overwhelming. you have to be able to talk to your clients & build a rapport almost like friendship.

unless there's something really unique about your body that's rare & highly desired in those spaces, if you want to get ahead & actually make money, you have to be really good at talking to people! when i realized that i knew then i'd never make it out there.

being bad at making friends & talking to people to the point i'm suicidally lonely is like, 50% of the reason i'm here.

Years ago a woman at work and I were having lunch and talking about my loneliness and shit... and she randomly said to me that I needed to just take a woman home and sleep with her. And besides not wanting to do that, I wanted more meaning than that... I told her also that IF such a thing were possible, for me to just pick up a woman randomly and take her home... that I would probably be in a better position to have an actual relationship and we wouldn't be having the conversation we were having at all.

It's like telling homeless people to just get a home or unemployed to just get a job or whatever... when your underlying social problem is keeping you from the things, you can't do adjacent things for the same reason.

I would say that I'd think OnlyFans would be "easier" than in-person adult encounters because you're only indirectly dealing with the people. And you don't even have to do live interactions, it could all be recorded... though I imagine the more popular/money-making sites do live interactions to seem more "real" to their subscribers.

If I was 19 again I think I may have as its extra money. I think being desperate and broke it may have helped me in hardship. Then again I was not one to wash my laundry in public. It could've haunted me later on. And if some family members found out it would not have gone down well (even though no one was there for me). I feel most girls / woman would not do it if the money wasn't good. And it's very sad that it seems to be the measurement of your valued as a woman , how "hot" and "young" you are. or how whatever exotic or niche thing you are boxed into. So the answer is maybe (damn always on the fence here).

I suppose it's not really that much different from, say, twitch streaming or vtubing. It makes money but that's because there's demand - if you were to get into it you sort of have to enjoy the job more than the money. You should be able to imagine yourself entertaining an audience of less than 10 people to get into the job.
