i think it immediately depends on wether the afterlife is "good" or "bad", though i'm not really asking what the afterlife actually is.
assuming the experience and aftermath of dying is good, do you think governments would take advantage of this? would governments take extra measures to assure you stay alive? or would government change entirely? would laws change? would murder be more common? would human life become meaningless? would people be more likely to kill themselves?
i think the answer to some of those questions would stay the same if the experience of the afterlife was bad, but others would change drastically. i thought about this at work today. would love to hear further insight.
