Method Would extracting opium be realistically possible?

Would you need a large quantity of opium poppies to be able to extract a decent amount? Do I necessarily need to do the whole separation bullshit for it if I'm using it for suicide and not recreational purposes? Is there any homemade guides on how to do this? Is this just not something realistically possible?
