Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Maybe this is better suited to 'Recovery' although- these things aren't exactly motivating me to recover. They're just nicer things about life...

I think bird song in the background can make anywhere feel briefly like a paradise in my head. I think it's a blackbird I can hear singing at the moment and, it's so beautiful. It's probably swearing at all the other birds for all I know but, it sounds pretty.

Are there things that very briefly lift your spirits?

I won't recover either. But while I'm here, though I am bedridden, couch ridden, I open the door most days. keep it ajar. there's a screen door but I open the main door. I like to listen to the birds too.
"blackbird singing in the dead of night. take these broken wings and learn to fly."

It was nice enough yesterday to have all the doors and windows open. I fed some squirrels. We even had a nice spring rain.

I find it funny how many studies have concluded that nature is healing to humans. City life and even what we consider modern civilization are so new to us that our brains have not adapted to finding those things pleasurable. Even though we think that sturdy houses with roofs over our head, concrete and artificial lights are what we need for the best life, getting out to trees, silence, darkness, being able to touch the ground with your bare feet, these are all things that, subconsciously, humans need.

Definitely. Humans are effectively animals in captivity and animals don't necessarily thrive in captivity.

It does sound such a dumb platitude sometimes to hear: 'You need to touch grass' but then, it's probably true.

I do hugely appreciate nature but then, I make next to no effort to go and and experience it now.

I am unfortunately stuck in American suburbia with no car, so getting out to real nature aside from a small local park is just about impossible for me. I take solace in my tiny backyard and the tree out front that houses some squirrels.

I enjoy strolling and birdwatching a lot, especially in nature environments with no one around. Art is another of my greater sources of pleasure. But, as nice as they are, they can't compensate the shit I go through.
