I'm gonna jump off a bridge into a river. I've faked an interest in jumping off bridges & cliffs for fun, by talking to my family abt how fun I think it is & how I wanna do it soon. I've been faking an interest in this for a few months. I plan to jump off the bridge when I'm drunk so ppl think me being drunk could have made me see the bridge I jumped off as lower than it actually was & they might think I didn't rlly wanna die.

No one knows I have mental health issues, as far as I know. Also I'm not gonna leave a note or anything that suggests that I might be feeling this way. Will ppl think my suicide was an accident?

Hi @nys, sorry to see that you are suffering..

To answer your question, it's hard to determine what will happen I think.
If your family, friends.. noticed that your behaviour changed, I imagine that they could make a link and conclude to a suicide, but the contrary is possible, if you kept your feeling inside you, it might look like an accident.

Maybe police would investigate too.

It's hard to really know what will happen, sorry !

Considering that alcohol would be involved and that so many people drown at this time a year while drunk, it sounds kinda solid if you're aiming for it to look like an accident + with all the other additional steps you are taking. But that's just my opinion.

@nys Be sure whatever device you use to access this forum is wiped clean, otherwise anything you do to make your jump appear to be an accident will be useless.

Okay thx. Idk what lengths I should go to for wiping the device though since idk how much theyre gonna investigate it. Do you think just deleting my history would be ok & they wouldnt investigate that much? Should I use bleachbit & then a factory reset? Or do you recommend getting the hard drive out & physically ruining it?

I suspect wiping and a factory reset will be more than enough.

You're so considerate in thinking about the impact this would have on your loved ones. I mean, I think we all think about it but to go to the extent to try and make it look like a accident I think is very noble.

I would imagine what you have described would make people assume it was a tragic accident. However, I would think it would initiate some form of investigation- as a suspicious death, so I think wiping computer history would be a good idea. To what extent, I don't know though- I don't know what kind of searches they are able to do. Thinking maybe physically destroying the hard drive might look a bit suspicious though- like you were trying to hide something.

I wish you all the best in whatever you decide.

Um, if you've been talking to people about how fun jumping of bridges is I am pretty sure the suspect you have mental illnesses. Jumping off things without a cord or a parachute isn't exactly a normal hobby.

I actually disagree with the idea that making it look like an accident is noble. I think it's really unfair to your loved ones to try to lie to them on the way out.
