I need to open my package of nitrite for the blood test, then quickly close it. i'm worried that when i open it, it will degrade to nitrate. is this possible? also my sn came in a plastic package that has a seal like a zip lock bag, instead of a bottle. will I be able to seal it up completely so that it isn't exposed to air?
No, as long as you keep it sealed it should be fine. SN degrades slowly (it takes years). If it has some clumps or is cakey that is normal. You're fine.
