well i have a 10mm polypropylene rope with a 50kg/110lbs wll and i'm 65kg/145lbs so the rope holds roughly 3/4 of my weight should i be concerned if i intend to use it for psh? the tensile strength or breaking point should be 6-7 times the working load limit so around 300 kg and since most of my body would be supported on the floor as i will be in a kneeling down position there shouldn't be any problem right? i mean it's only going to last 30 mins max so i don't think anything will snap during that period?
i've seen people succeed with more improvised setups like sketchy anchors and ropes but users here say that both the rope and anchor should support your full weight which is reasonable but the only store near me had ropes with a 50kg limit and the ones with higher capacity are usually made with nylon which people here say is too stretchy or come in very big spools not easy to conceal or bring home and ordering online is a hassle where i live
btw is there a reliable way to test my anchor? some users said suspending from my anchor or doing pullups is a good testing method but i don't know if that's a good way to test something that should theoretically hold only a portion of my weight i tried to do one and it held without a problem (it didn't shake) but i don't know if doing a bunch of pullups may weaken it or apply more weight than the one it's intended to hold, considering i'm doing partial hanging
and finally i had to cut a piece of my rope with a knife but i didn't melt the ends, so they frayed should i be concerned? only the ends are frayed the rest of the rope is still intact, chatgpt recommended melting it but said that as long as the main body of the knot doesn't rely on the frayed ends i should be fine but idk
