well i have a 10mm polypropylene rope with a 50kg/110lbs wll and i'm 65kg/145lbs so the rope holds roughly 3/4 of my weight should i be concerned if i intend to use it for psh? the tensile strength or breaking point should be 6-7 times the working load limit so around 300 kg and since most of my body would be supported on the floor as i will be in a kneeling down position there shouldn't be any problem right? i mean it's only going to last 30 mins max so i don't think anything will snap during that period?

i've seen people succeed with more improvised setups like sketchy anchors and ropes but users here say that both the rope and anchor should support your full weight which is reasonable but the only store near me had ropes with a 50kg limit and the ones with higher capacity are usually made with nylon which people here say is too stretchy or come in very big spools not easy to conceal or bring home and ordering online is a hassle where i live

btw is there a reliable way to test my anchor? some users said suspending from my anchor or doing pullups is a good testing method but i don't know if that's a good way to test something that should theoretically hold only a portion of my weight i tried to do one and it held without a problem (it didn't shake) but i don't know if doing a bunch of pullups may weaken it or apply more weight than the one it's intended to hold, considering i'm doing partial hanging

and finally i had to cut a piece of my rope with a knife but i didn't melt the ends, so they frayed should i be concerned? only the ends are frayed the rest of the rope is still intact, chatgpt recommended melting it but said that as long as the main body of the knot doesn't rely on the frayed ends i should be fine but idk

I wish i had some idea on this to guide you..
When i attempted partial, i used the handle of my bathroom door and used the top of the door to act as the main point from where my neck would hang. I felt dizzy once. But nothing after that. Another fellow member said that he used belt of bathroom robe and tied it slightly above the Adam's apple that's when he experienced blackout.

thank you for replying
i'm planning to use my shower door rail as my anchor and i've already tested it and felt dizzy pretty quickly but the position of the rope isn't the problem

what concerns me is that i have rope with a working load limit of around 50kg which is the normal or recommended usage but i'm above that weight
but considering that's just a working load limit and not the breaking point of the rope and also the fact that i'll not be fully suspended just partially and only need it to work for aprox 30 mins makes me think it will work but i just wanted to make sure nothing wrong will happen

i know that ideally it should be able to hold my full weight but due to my circumstances this is the best i can do at least for now and know there's a possibility of failure with my current setup/materials but i think there's a higher chance of success than of failure

If we look at how lot of people including teenagers CTB in India, they choose FSH. So, I think, while it may not be that smooth journey to peace, but i think it's a sure shot way to peace, and if it's done properly, the blackout happens in few seconds and the rest is just the time it takes to finally depart.

Considering that, i feel you are right, there are high chances for success. And you are going for PSH, so that's even better. The rope will not be under so much strain.
