Not necessarily a full cow catcher but I failed a train attempt because of a metal spike thing that sits in front of the wheels. I assume it is for clearing debris or smaller animals.
My error was laying with my stomach on the track rather than my head. I was hiding near a blind corner so the train would not be able to slow or stop in time and rushed the placement.
I got impaled by the spike and pushed along until the train stopped. Had to wriggle myself off and out from underneath it fully conscious. It was absolute goldilocks placement to have no lasting damage - a little deeper and it would have hit my spine, lower it would have smashed my hips, higher it would have gone through my ribs and lungs. Instead it was basically an axe wound.
I think the train model is "Comeng 647M" for reference. Police report said it was going above 60kph which should have been fast enough to work even with bad placement.
