What makes you think it will bring peace or terminate everything rather than lead to something else entirely? Isn't treating death as the ultimate solution just another form of naïve optimism?

Nothing is guaranteed in this world. All you can do is walk in the direction that contains the most hope

you don't know that for sure though. Maybe you were hitler before you were born, and you just got your memory wiped before reincarnating as a baby Nullm

It's a chance many are willing to take. You can either choose between continuing to suffer until you inevitably die, or die earlier and hopefully find respite. You're going to die no matter what.

We are all going to die; it doesn't matter. Given current scientific knowledge, there does not appear to be life after death. It's simply nothing—which is to say, much better than this shitty life.

we have no idea how consciousness and conscious identity behave in this universe. We as a species and everything on this earth are a product of 'emergence' out of this big particle physics soup we call universe..
Conscious experience itself could therefore be an emergent phenomenon... and we don't even know what implications that has and what that even means exactly.

Death may end a particular configuration of existence, but it cannot be demonstrated to constitute liberation from Being itself.

Exactly. I've been trapped in an intolerable set of circumstances for years, and no matter what I do my situation just keeps getting worse. I'm broken and tired. At least death would be a change.

Personally I don't think it will be. I'm going to hell for my sins But dying will at least stop me continuing to cause harm here is this world.

It's not less absurd than believing the opposite. The only thing that's a fact is that nobody living knows what happens after death. But we all have the right to believe what we want based on what we perceive.

Such interpretation is pointless without defining what constitutes "you" and "not you", or how we distinguish these two things. I could argue that losing all your memories erases your identity even if your physical body continues to live, so your body before and after the amnesia would serve as a vessel for entirely different subjects. Formally these subjects can be recognized as the same person based on the common traceable property - the body whose history can be tracked. But the second subject wouldn't feel any connection with the first one besides the body and circumstances around it.

scientifically, nothing happens except for a hyper specific dream as the brain dies in order to self soothe. Personally I'd like to believe when i die I'll separate from my body into a true form and be able to travel the different planes of reality. Maybe I'd scare a dog in one of those "OMG GHOST CAUGHT ON CAMERA" videos. It sounds better than being the gross blob with no real future i am. Even if that doesn't happen and it truly is nothing, at least I won't have to experience anything after my probable dream.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know
Aug 12, 2019

Death is the escape from the threat of extreme torture of life and the hell that is life and this evil prison world

1 micro second after my brain is destroyed my brain can never create experience or pain for me ever , or even a me ever.

i , every human exists only in a story the brain creates.

Death is Non-Existence forever.

that i will never exist again is comforting because Eternal Non-Existence is the only guarantee of me never suffering pain so bad its a billion times worse than the worst i can imagine.

there is no evidence for anything else like any afterlife , reincarnation, soul, magic , etc.

and there never will be any evidence because none of this afterlife or reincarnation stuff is real or exists. Death is permanent Non-Existence and always will be. even the universe will die . a human which is a small animal same cells as other animals has to eat 3 x a day to power the brain. there is no power source to power this consciousness for trillions to the quadrillion power of years after the stars have gone dark and the universe is expanding into nothingness . there is no power source now even a 1000 years after a human dies.

all humans including me have no idea how bad pain and suffering can get.

to say words like the pain of burning your entire skin at one time against burning hot metal is a billion times worse than one can imagine it : another human will never understand this .

remember the time you burned your hand on a hot stove . ok we all know that is painful and not wanted .

that pain for 3 seconds was unbearable . yet your hand was in contact with the hot stove for only 1/4 of a second and you pulled back instantly the pain was so bad

what about if your hand is forced on that stove so you can't remove it . then the pain will be may times worse than just touching it and pulling back. can anyone really imagine how bad that is? no. the weak human brain can't .

if the whole bare skin of the body is pushed down against burning hot 800 degree steel bed then the pain would be millions of times worse than just holding the hand against a burning hot stove. can a human imagine how bad that is? even 3 seconds would be so bad that nothing could ever be worth that . especially not the crap they say is so good like a social media post , video, watching a sunset , not even eating food which is the only biological pleasure of these is worth even a second of this kind of pain. much less 10 seconds , 60 seconds .

it's the brain / sentience / conscoiusness that can create this extreme agony . but no one is afraid of living even though while alive or conscious one can suffer pain to that extent continous for a long time.

so consciousness / living / existing is not something good it's something that can torture an individual extremely. to me it's not something wanted at all ever . all i want is to escape this hell and Death is the escape forever , the only safety from continuous extreme torture.

evolution is true. do other animals have souls. do bacteria or ameobas have souls? do fish , flys? no no and no neither does a human . the cells are the same cells in all these animals including humans . every cell has DNA , ribosomes, the genetic code, ATP, RNA . even bacteria have all these machines. .

If I reincarnate into another body, I will have no memories of my own existence. Whoever that is, it is not me, it will not be me suffering. I need not have fear of it. If I survive into an afterlife, it will either be torturous, in which case I doubt it can be worse than the hell that exists on this earth; or it will be peaceful and I will not suffer. In either case, it will have allowed me to solve the eternal question of if human existence means something in the end, which would satisfy the scientist within me. In any case, I will find what I'm looking for one way or the other.

personally i dont assume death is an escape, i just believe that it most likely is, i am willing to take the risk of a bad afterlife, because this world has pushed me too far, i hope that there will be nothingness or a peaceful place after death, but i just know that i cant stay here, as painful as that fact can be to accept, we cant say for certain what comes after death, we can just hope that it is preferable to life

I think death is an escape....because there, none of the pain and suffering that people on earth do to me because I feel so hopeless thanks to the ways my suicidal ideation has made so many people twist and twist the knife the second they see a tear in my eye knowing I'm constantly passively suicidal. I would actually have needed any person alive to just, not treat me like garbage for being so desperate to end the pain I'm begging god to take me.

I wish death wasn't the only escape that existed. But no matter how much I try to think of anywhere on god's green earth that wants me to exist and would accept me despite my suffering, I can't think of anywhere.
