• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Whew. This is actually my first thread

Seems like a simple question but i wonder why dont the authorities just let us kill ourselves?

Seems like a easy way to get rid of a (most likely) problematic and (probly) unproductive segment of the population

And these ppl will even say its out it is their own choice and free will so authorities wont even need to take any responsibility for it

The simplest, most convenient, and non problematic way is to just let them... DO IT

So why?

Is it virtue signaling gone mad?

Is because too many ppl killing them selves will undermine the legitimacy of their regime?

Is it because of the christian idea that suicide is bad?

Is it because it is a social sippery slope, and that once its allowed; previously not-that-suicidal ppl will follow suit?

Is it because the population is already dieing too fast cuz miserable and sex focused girls and guys cant make babies effectively to the point where they already need to dilute the quality of their population base with mass unprecedented immigration?

Let me hear your crazy ideas cuz youre all crazy ppl just like me

And while youre at it, challenge some of my ideas too. I dont mind, if im sold then my new ideas will be stronger ones

id just assume it's cause a good amount of suicidal people will be buying medicine n stuff. so its better to keep them coming back then letting them die + the amount that can be charged if you're sent to a psych ward for trying to die is huge
that or there are enough "functional" suicidal people so letting them die would be disadvantageous

This is a trivial and highly controversial subject. And politicians and ppl in power tend to stay away from such. They simply prefer the blame game and how to manipulate a situation in their favor. This issue awards them neither.

Except, despite however many efforts get put into place people ctb everyday. Every second actually. No matter what it seems to keep getting figured out. Even the creation of this site in general. Because it's to my understanding that it's been tried to be shut down/banned multiple times but there's always been a workaround. Or seeing a new source when another goes down. People who are determined enough will always find another way without asking for permission. There's no stopping it really. They don't have to let us do anything. We will anyway.

Because their legal system is arbitrary, why does cocaine is illegal while tobacco is legal? Why is death penalty still in some countries? Isn't life supposed to be protected at all costs? Why people can inject a convict and say the law has been served while we can't decide to end our life with dignity and peaceful as it can be

It's not just our governments who want people to stay alive though- it's surely the majority of the population that want that. Could you tell your parents/ care providers/ family/ friends openly that you intend to suicide and they would calmly accept your decision? If you feel like you can, I suspect you are in the minority.

To flip the situation- imagine if our governments set up assisted suicide facilities for all. Do you imagine parents will just sit back while their children use them? Whether those children are productive members of society or not.

I'd argue that in the case of assisted dying, our governments are only mirroring what the majority of the population actually wants.

As to why- I imagine it's because those living don't want to be burdened with the grief, shock and guilt of losing their loved ones via suicide. People do seem to react differently to suicide than they do natural death.

The simplest, most convenient, and non problematic way is to just let them... DO IT.
It might be less problematic for the people that want to commit, but not for everyone else (their family members/friends/employers/etc). A lot of people would most likely protest non-stop and dislike the current government if they were openly fine with people killing themselves whenever they wanted without intervention. The government obviously doesn't benefit from that, just like the medical industry and everyone else involved.

Because birth and life has always been portrayed as a privilege and such a miracle, also biologically. Since we are naturally made to avoid death, specially the self-inflicted one. It might just be one of the most taboo topics for society to digest, there is some things that will never be considered widely normal no matter how many efforts are made for it to happen. Just like abortion, certain sexual orientations, gender-choices, etc. I think this has to do with the fact that most of these defy human biology and have been facilitated as a product of modern society. Yes they might have existed before the terms were coined but not made reachable willingly in primitive societies.

This is my neutral take, not political, just seeing society from an analitic perspective. This doesn't mean I am against people's choices about themselves.

The majority of people, no matter how accepting they are simply don't understand the concept of suicide and are quite ignorant/insensitive about it. It is just too gruesome for people to be okay with widely.

It truly is such horrific, terrible extreme cruelty how so many humans do all they can to force others to suffer in this torturous existence that never should had been imposed and the reason is that they want others to be tortured and experience the pain and suffering of existing for as long as possible.

To me anti-suicide is just so evil, anti-suicide only causes way more harm and torture in this existence where there is no limit as to how much one can be tortured, denying the option to cease existing peacefully is criminal to me, there's just so much terrible extreme cruelty in how the suffering and torture of existing is seen as to force and prolong no matter what even know this existence was imposed in the first place, it's just so terrible how this existence was imposed at all.

Personally I think it's the end result of irresponsible behavior. People produce humans without thinking, or just for fun. These humans now run around in the world without a place. They suffer. It's not their fault initially.

Now these suffering indivituals turn around and say "this is really bad, I'm going to leave now ok?" The response of the collective is again irresponsible, as they try to force you through your life, until it's natural end. The responsible thing to do would be to burden the suffering that you have produced. Yet they don't want to do that.

The "shock and horror" that they feel when someone close kills themselfes actually comes from having to burden their responsability. Society has thought them that.

Why has it done this? Because it's a pyramid scheme at every level. Financial, social, psychological. It's horrible.
