Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Please note, I am not referring to CARBON MONOXIDE. I am also NOT encouraging the use of this "method".

Carbon dioxide is what humans exhale during respiration. It is highly toxic to us, and I believe that one or two plastic bags plus a string to tie around the neck could already work.

I understand the despair this method can cause, and I know it's slow until you lose consciousness, but in theory it's extremely accessible, and if you give up, you rarely suffer permanent consequences (Except if he/she has already lost consciousness when rescued). However, I think that with strong sleeping pills, it might be extremely simple to make this method work more peacefully, but I've never seen this discussed here.Is there a reason for this? I mean, I've only recently started looking into it, it seems very promising, but there must be a reason why nobody's talking about it. I'd like to understand why

the whole point of other methods is because carbon dioxide sets of the suffocation alarms in your body more iirc

It IS sometimes talked about. Someone even posted a japanese suicide case report published in a japanese medical article. However the method you specifically mentioned is indeed slow and unreliable, in the way that you may reflexively tear apart the bag before losing consciousness due to high panic.

There are quicker and wiser ways to use carbon dioxide to end your life. What do I mean? You don't have to rely on your OWN CO2. That japanese person used citric acid (lemon salt) and sodium bicarbonate to create excess co2 in his bag,

However, I personally find it unreliable and painful to ONLY fix a bag over your head and wait, without manually creating more co2 with reactions.

The suicide case report paper I mentioned earlier is here, check it out if interested: https://i.sanctioned-suicide.net/images/2024/11/214350_CO2_death_case_report.pdf

I can't imagine that you won't tear off the bag once you have trouble breathing. Even with sleeping pills I doubt that there will be much of a difference . There are few things that cause such panic in humans like the feeling of suffocating does.
