  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

So I've tried to contact my local health centre to ask for counselling twice but I'm too afraid to follow through. I'm afraid they'll just make a quick generalize overview out of me. I know it sounds ridiculous because they are professionals and this is what they studied for but I can't shake the fear that I am beyond saving or that there is actually nothing wrong with me and I'm just a failure.

Sorry this is so negative. I'm really struggling just to make a phone call.

its ok thats understandable. i remember the first time i called to get a therapist. i was shaking and just riddled with anxiety. i was just about in tears and had to stop explaining things to the receptionist and breath it was so bad. if youd like to talk to a fellow peer while you work up asking for help from a professional you can talk to me :) just send me a message

I'm not sure. It really is hard though. Very hard for me. I think it might have to do with trusting people, and letting people care for you.

I think there is a certain fear of being judged, the stigma around mental health, not getting the correct help, being sectioned etc. But the fact you're trying to ask for help is such a good thing! You never know what will happen unless you push yourself that little bit more. It could end up being the greatest and best thing you ever did.

don't apologize for being negative. this is a safe place for you to get as much things off your chest as possible.

regarding your question, there's a stigma around mental health. like calling people lazy or saying they're faking it - and god forbid the "you have it better than most people" shit, which leads mentally ill/suffering folks to feel ashamed with themselves, to feel ashamed for asking for help.

there is nothing wrong with asking for help. nobody can do everything by themselves.

asking for help is a big first step, though, and it's good that you took that step. i hope it all goes well.
