Some questions here get lots of comment traffic, others get none. It seems that methods are the most likely to get no answers. I know everyone here (mostly) is being thoughtful to comment on threads in a way that is helpful and supportive.

What makes you decide you are going to answer a question? What kind of information do you feel it's good to provide and what do you decide you can't/wont?

1st for me is when I read something and it tears my heart, and I cry and then I want to help the person out.

2nd if it is something that one can try and add to the issue(s) at hand to help

I would never give any suggestions about methods, as it would completely make me have a break down knowing that I had any part of a ctb. 100% pro-choice on everything, I just do not either have the heart or guts to help with a method.

Likewise, on some methods, that would have a very low chance, and the poor soul would be left with a messed-up body, mind and spirit, I then try to help.

You are still a VERY kind, caring and ever so wonderful soul on here and this site would be at a complete loss without you.

I'm sorry about that.

Whenever someone comments on a post it is bumped to the top of the forum resulting in more views and comments, so it makes sense why couple posts get so many comments while others don't.

Really just depends on my mood, think that's the same for most everyone else.

I primarily comment on posts trying to give advice that will improve someone's final minutes. I'm not going to tell someone how to CTB but knowing how much anxiety I have towards CTB I want others to go as peacefully as possible if they make that choice for themselves.

I skip over negativity and doomerism, as well as people asking easily researchable questions or wanting other people to do the work for them.

I interact with posts I feel i can resonate with for the most part. Rarely I comment on methods or whatever but generally only if someone is asking about or thinking about doing a method I know wouldn't work - im not going to help anyone ctb because it goes against my morals but im not going to stand by and let them go thru with something that will do them substantial harm without saying something either, i try to help if i can. (most of us wish to ctb but none? of us want to be left maimed and on life support from a failed attempt either).
It just depends on my mood really.

Mood probably does play a part, but also if I even have something to contribute, or can emphasize.

A lot of factora. Depends.

If it's well written, with paragraphs, formatted.

If someone is interested in or experienced in the topic.

If it has a clear question, probably can greatly help.

What makes you decide you are going to answer a question? What kind of information do you feel it's good to provide and what do you decide you can't/wont?
If what is being discussed is in a field I have knowledge on I comment. A few weeks ago someone made a post about ctb by train, as a person who works on trains (but doesn't drive them) I felt that I should comment on why that isn't a good method from a moral standpoint of not mentally scaring other people.

If what's being discussed is something I'm also struggling with. I come here to vent and just talk about how I'm feeling about things going on in my life are affecting me. I post a lot on posts related to relationships and breakups because I recently had my boyfriend break up with me and I just want to vent about how I feel.

I don't provide information on methods because I already have my method and haven't researched any of the methods here. I know of some methods (exitbag, N, Sn) but I don't know the procedures involved with them. I don't have the energy to read on the methods and I definitely don't have the energy to actually carry out any of the methods.

This is going to sound offensive, but there are a lot of what the internet culture calls "shit posts or shit posting" and its hard to say because i believe everyone on this forum should/deserves to be heard, but some posts are just not worth answering.

To some people, very short and vague posts are shit posts, and to other people extremely long-winded posts can be shit posts as a lot of people have short attention spans and cannot sit through long posts.

There's a lot of times I want to answer someone but feel like I can't come up with a coherent thought to get my words out the way I want to and fear sounding stupid. Or someone has already said what I'm thinking and I don't want to just echo them without adding anything useful.

I'm always amazed (and lowkey envious lol) at how many people on here write so thoughtfully, knowledgeably, and eloquently.

darksouls, I'm so sorry that you've had to go through this. That is heartbreaking. But, I've read so many of your replies on various threads and want you to know that your writing is always great, and always comes across as intelligent, thoughtful, and clear. I never would have known you had difficulties, if you hadn't told us. (I'm so sorry, I hope that last part isn't offensive because I really don't mean it that way and hope it didn't come off like that. I'm being earnest.)

Time management,, i would reply allot more if I could properly have enough time, as I don't want to make a thoughtless reply on someone's post, and other things like methods again time management and also not willing to share what I might know when it comes to ctb since even if I might have some valid information I still can't trust that I do, i have what I believe to be poor communication, so re explaining things I know comes out of me in a way that can be hard to understand since Id be explaining in a way that I can understand and I just feel like it's hard to give any advice when it could most definitely be misinterpreted,
Unless I actually have a proper moment, or at times i come back and forth through the day to work on a response when I don't have a solid moment.

Plus there are certain controversially immoral kinds of posts I'm unable to reply to for my own sake though I won't go into detail on what those post entail.
